“The Shawshank Redemption” is an American drama movie directed by Frank Darabont and based on the Steven King’s novella “Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption”. The main roles are played by Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. The movie was awarded six Oscars and by now is on the top of the world film ratings.

The young bank worker Andy Dufrensne accused of killing his wife and her lover. He didn’t make the crime but he has to go in Shawshank prison and spend there all his life. This prison is one of the gloomiest one in England. There Andy meets African-American prisoner Red and they become friends. Andy helps other people to read and write and easily becomes insider.

But Andy doesn’t want to spend all his life in Shawshank and creates a plan for breaking out.

In Andy’s room there is the poster of popular film hiding the big hole which will help him to leave. He doesn’t inform even his best friend Read about his idea. That interim Andy faces the awful cruelty from prison workers’ side. They put him in lock-up room because of trifle. They hate all the prisoners and jeer at them.
